Replacing pedals or a crank

Virtually all fatbike pedals have 9/16" threading; mind left and right (the left pedal has a left-hand thread). Cranks differ per axle type — usually a square-taper axle on a BSA 68 mm bottom bracket. Does your crank creak or wobble? Replace it in time, or the axle gets damaged. In doubt: ask us.

Buy fatbike pedals and cranks

Pedals and cranks absorb force on every ride. A bent crank, a worn bottom bracket or a pedal with play is something you feel immediately in your pedal stroke — and often hear as a tick. Cranks are often model-specific through their length (e.g. 170 mm) and axle interface (such as square taper), while pedals are usually universal. In doubt about the right crank? Ask us.

Which crank fits my fatbike?

Among other things, we stock a 170 mm crank set with a square-taper axle for the OUXI V8 and H9 and the Diablo. What matters is the crank length, the axle shape (square or splined) and whether it houses a torque sensor. Read the length off your current crank (often stamped on the inside) or ask us — we will find the matching crankset.

Crank, bottom bracket and drivetrain

If a worn chain or sprocket goes with your crank, replace them together to prevent renewed wear. You'll find those parts in motors & drivetrain. Universal pedals with good grip are a small upgrade with a big comfort gain, especially in wet weather.

Solid and quiet riding

Tighten cranks and pedals to the right torque, otherwise play will develop again. Getting your fatbike ready for winter? Also think about lubricating your drivetrain; read about it in our winter-ready guide. In doubt about the crank length? The specifications will help.
