Replacing brake pads or a brake disc

Fatbike brakes vary by brake caliper and disc size (often 160mm or 180mm). Mechanical and hydraulic systems require different parts, and hydraulic brakes use mineral oil or DOT — these are not interchangeable. In our brake guide you can read how to spot wear and measure the right size.

Buy fatbike brakes and brake parts

Good braking on a heavy, fast fatbike is not a luxury but a safety matter. Most fatbikes have hydraulic or mechanical disc brakes. When your brake pads wear down, or there is air or play in your hydraulic brake, you notice it immediately in a longer braking distance. Brake parts are often brand- and model-specific — check the specifications, or ask us if in doubt.

Brake pads, brake levers and brake discs

We stock brake pads, hydraulic brake levers (left and right) and brake discs for, among others, the OUXI V8, V8 Max and H9 and the QMWheel V20 and V20 Pro. For each product you can see which models and brake calipers the part fits. Don't know which brand of caliper you have? Take a photo of your brake and send it to us — we'll find the right part for it.

Hydraulic or mechanical?

Hydraulic disc brakes bite harder and need less maintenance, but occasionally require bleeding and brake fluid. Mechanical brakes are easier to adjust yourself via the cable. Whichever type you have: order the brake part that belongs to your system, or it simply will not fit. In our brake guide we explain the difference and the adjustment step by step.

Safe on the road

When fitting new brake pads, also check your brake discs and cables right away. Does your brake work with a motor cut-off via the display, take that into account when replacing. In doubt about the fit? Check the specifications or ask us.
